Running Biomechanics, drills, track, pace, roads and trail and hills.

Running is Hazel’s first love and favourite way to get outdoors.

During this workshop you will explore running on different terrains and learn why each surface is important and gives way to different running styles. You will learn how to to up your distance and build pace whilst maintaining healthy, active lifestyles. You will learn a series of drills to warm up and prevent injury, while improving your form and therefore efficiency.

By exploring some basic running biomechanics you will understand how we can all get faster by improving how we run. Pace judgment and how to learn which intensity you should be at for different fitness goals is a key to successful training.  By exploring the different types or running sessions, you will build on or improve depending on what level you are at.

You can use as many intensity measures as you like to help you train at the appropriate level. There is no wrong or right. Some people like to keep it simple and just train by feel, known also as Rate of Perceived Exertion or RPE. Others like to use every measure possible so that they can train more precisely and then analyse their training data. We will explore the various options.

This workshop will introduce you to the running mindset and how to build your fitness. It takes a special kind of mindset to be a runner and it’s one that athletes of all disciplines can benefit from. No matter what your distance, running is as much about mental endurance as it is about physical endurance. Developing the right mindset is a key step in levelling up your running performance, regardless of your level.
